Tributes continue following the death of former Queanbeyan Mayor Ian Marjason.

He founded a local law firm with his son seven years ago, before retiring in June last year.

The former Queanbeyan mayor was known to have a commitment to public service… having been a councillor for 25 years – and twice elected mayor of the now defunct YARROWLUMLA shire council.

He was also president of the Bungendore Show society for more than 10 years…

His moves to become a NSW politician was NOT successful, after failing to obtain the seat of Monaro in 1999 for the Liberal Party.
