The second of two international flights that diverted to Canberra yesterday – will leave for Sydney later this afternoon (Tuesday January 16).

It’s been more than 24 hours since United flight 893 arrived at Canberra Airport….

American Airlines flight 73 was also diverted, but flew to Sydney last night.

Both flights came from Los Angeles.

The United 787 Dreamliner is scheduled to leave Canberra at 2:30 this afternoon.

The wide bodied jet spent the night parked on the tarmac at Canberra airport, creating a spectacular sight for plane spotters.

United Airlines Passengers were re-accommodated last night.
