Plans to redevelop the Commercial hotel in Yass are in limbo after a fire guttered a large portion of the historic building.

The venue’s owners were in early discussions with Yass Valley Council staff about ideas of transforming it, before a blaze caused extensive damages on Monday morning.

Yass Valley Council Deputy Mayor Jasmine Jones says until the site is assessed its unclear whether the plans will be realised.
