ACT economy lagging in ‘States of the States’ report

New statistics have found the ACT to have the second worst performing economy of all states and Territories for the second quarter in a row.

Comsec’s ‘state of the states’ report for the march quarter looked at 8 key factors including retail spending and unemployment, with the Northern Territory ranking the lowest overall.

The report also showed the ACT led in retail spending and have one of the lowest unemployment rates at just over 3 per cent.

The Territory’s jobs growth was also found to be the second highest nationally.
