The Government has confirmed that students will be back in the classroom for the start of Term 1.

New students will start on the 31st of January and returning students on the 1st of February.

All school-based staff and students will be provided with two Rapid Antigen Tests per week for the first four weeks of the term.

The decision comes as 90 per cent of those aged 5-11 are expected to have received one dose of the vaccine when school returns.

Schools are being urged to postpone certain events by the directorate to limit children’s potential exposure to the virus.
