National Party MP Barnaby Joyce is officially on leave over issues relating to a recent incident in a Canberra Street.

Footage emerged of Barnaby Joyce, wearing a dark suit and swearing into his mobile phone, while lying on the ground along Lonsdale street in Braddon.

Mr JOYCE says he’s embarrassed by the situation… dealing with personal issues, and had been drinking alcohol while taking prescription medicine.

Nationals leader David Littleproud says he supports Mr Joyce.
