It’s been revealed, more than a million dollars worth of fines have been handed out in just weeks, since the introduction of the A.C.T’s mobile phone detection cameras

Tickets began being issued about a month ago when authorities decided to switch ON the new cameras, on both fixed and transportable devices.

Figures show, since then, more than two-and-a-half thousand infringements have been issued…

The fine comes with three demerit points, per offence.

It’s also been revealed, the driver of 192 vehicles received more than one notice.

The A.C.T. Government insists, it’s not a cash grab… but a road safety initiative.
