The community is invited to join an Ovarian Cancer Awareness event tonight, focused on improving awareness of symptoms, early detection and the broader impact on women’s health.

Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed late due to low awareness of early symptoms, making public education and timely recognition critical to improving outcomes.

Dr Supre Ponnappa says the event is focused on giving people facts about ovarian cancer, and opportunities to hear from medical experts and patients.

“Improving awareness makes it more likely that ovarian cancer can be detected earlier, treated earlier, and survived,” Dr Ponnappa says.

“While ovarian cancer is a heavy topic, the event will be a relaxed, community‑focused conversation and networking occasion open to anyone who wants to know more.”

The free event, held in partnership with Ovarian Cancer Australia, will be running from 5.30-7.30pm today at 4 Mort Street Braddon.
