The Coroner is investigating the death of a man at the Dhulwa Mental Health Facility.

The 37-year old was placed entered the facility nearly a fortnight ago – after pleading guilty by way of mental impairment in the A.C.T. Supreme Court – on a count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

The case follows an incident in 2021.

Then, a week ago, the man appeared to have suffered a medical episode, and was declared dead the next day.

According to police, as the death is a death in custody, a hearing must be held at a future date.
