A Canberra motorist has received a hefty fine for filming the crash scene of a Barton Highway accident while driving.

The smash happened last Friday in Nichols involving a car and a cyclist.

But it’s the actions of the passerby motorist that’s got police fuming.

Police footage has revealed,  she was seen filming the aftermath of the crash,  while driving.

Officers say her actions are unacceptable and showed little regard for her own safety.

It’s understood,  the driver’s fine is in excess of $500.
