The family who released the footage of the driver says they were just seconds from disaster, after narrowly avoiding the speeding Astra, that was on the wrong side of the road, estimated to be driving at 130 kilometres an hour.

The Astra was allegedly being sought by police, following a dangerous driving incident from the previous friday night.

The footage has been released almost a year after the tragic incident on Hindmarsh Drive that claimed the life of Matthew McLuckie.
