There’s a renewed warning about rogue gardeners across Canberra who pretend to be working for the Government and scamming local residents.

It’s an elaborate plot.

The gardeners chop down tree limbs and other gardening work – on properties without permission – then demand money for their work, claiming they were part of a Government operation.

It’s not true according to police….

Residents in Gungahlin, Belconnen and the inner south have already been targetted…

In one case, the scammers took an elderly woman to the bank and forced her to pay hundreds of dollars.
