Canberrans could be getting an early Christmas-present from the Federal Goverment.

Federal Treasurer JIM CHALMERS is hopeful, he’ll have a system in place by next month to deal with rising energy prices.

Although the system is a secret.

Doctor Chalmers is keeping tight lipped on the plan, except to say it depends on negotiations with gas and electricity companies… and it would temporary.

He’s also relying on new legislation getting passed on the floor of Parliament but full details remain up in the air.
