More details have emerged regarding text messages being sent in error to Canberrans – as the A.C.T. Digital Health Record came online.

75-thousand people received alerts about appointments and test results when the record switched over to becoming digital –

the trouble was – all were historic notifications.

A handful of people received messages about medical information that was not theirs.

Officials say – the notifications were sent by text in error – as the information was being uploaded onto the new system, prompting the alerts of old appointments and results.

Authorities have confirmed – the issue was investigated and corrected… but there’s been no further word on whether it constitutes a breach of the Health Records Act.
