Legal Action’s being taken against an A.C.T. care provider over the death of a group-home resident.

The action’s being taken by the National Disability and Insurance Scheme against against care provider VALMAR.

According to legal documents from the N.D.I.S. – A 47 year old man, known as “MR H” who had an intellectual disability among other health issues – died while in the care of Valmar at a care home in Richardson.

It’s alleged, it was a requirement, he only eat soft-food… but in May 2020, he died after choking on a toasted sandwich.

The N.D.I.S. says the level of care was unacceptable and requires a strong regulatory response.
