Opposition Continues Calls for Planning Bill Debate to be Postponed

An extensive number of amendments has thrown doubt over the government’s planning bill.

The Opposition is continuing calls for the debate to be postponed because there are to many elements of the planning system that are yet to be finalised.

A main criticism of the government’s consultation has been that the public won’t get to see the government’s amendments, before the bill is locked into law.

The Greens have circulated 19 amendments to the bill, with reports more than 100 could be considered next week, despite this, the government is confident of passing laws that will overhaul the planning system.
