A final report into last April’s fatal helicopter crash in the Kosciuszko National Park – has found cloud conditions and low visibility likely caused the pilot to become “spatially disoriented”.
The chopper had already landed – due to the poor weather conditions west of Canberra, but took off again.
Australian Transport Safety Bureau Chief Commissioner Angus Mitchell says that decision cost the pilot and passenger their lives:
