Tram Plan Jam

There’s been a set back in the timeline to create a business case for Canberra’s light rail stage 2B

The territory’s Transport Minister CHRIS STEEL has confirmed, the case can’t be put together, until The National Planning Authority gives the green light to planning approvals.

… and he says planning approval for the project is “uncertain, in terms of scope”.

The minister says scope is out of the Government’s hands until the authority considers the project’s planning approval…

After that, he says officials can use it to develop the stage 2B business case… but he admits, THAT most likely won’t happen until the next term of Government.

Community consultation’s been slated for next year.
