The Education Union has weighed in on the Liberals claims that the government is to blame for the shortage of teachers in the Capital.

400 new teachers were promised by the government at the last election, but the Opposition believes next to none have been added to the pool.

Education Union Branch President Angela Burroughs has welcomed the Canberra Liberals support.

“It’s about pay and it’s about time, we welcome the extent of Jeremy’s (Hanson) support for our campaign to increase teachers pay, and the time they have so that their workloads can be less excessive,” Ms Burroughs said.
