Major road closures will take effect along the Monaro Highway tonight as crews install new bridge girders.

The works are part of the flyover and interchange project at the Monaro Highway and Lanyon Drive intersection, with both northbound and southbound lanes to close from 7pm tonight until 5am Monday.

Drivers are being advised to follow detours through the Hume industrial area.
