Working from home could be the way for the APS

A University of NSW Canberra survey, supported by the Community and Public Sector Union, indicates public servants on average benefited from working from home.

In particular, people with disabilities gained the most – and were found to be more productive across the board.

UNSW Canberra Associate Professor Sue Williamson says both employees and managers shared the same view.

“We asked managers as well, so it’s not just employees who might be sitting around saying they’re more productive,” Ms Williamson said.

“So it’s also the manager’s who are able to look at output and say whether they were productive or not.
