Residents of a luxury million-dollar apartments in Canberra have been warned NOT to step-out onto their balconies, because of safety concerns.

According to engineering consultancy firm BLIGH TANNER – Balustrades at the Highgate Apartment in Canberra City – are not properly reinforced.

A report says glass is at risk of “Spontaneous shattering” – recommding apartment occupants remain clear.

In an inspection of the property in September last year, 44 defects or issues were reportedly found at the 17 floor building.
