There are calls for the establishment of a Canberra based Commission to investigate continued high prices – and rescue Australians from the high cost of living.

The call has come from the A.C.T.U.

Together with Alan Fels – the former boss of the Competition and Consumer Commission.. they’ve presented a report that they believe will lead to cheaper prices.

One of the recommendations is the setting up of a permanent competition and prices commission – separate from the A TRIPLE C… and have Canberra enforce regulations, making it an offence to charge excessive prices.

They’ve criticised businesses that have kept prices much higher than needed.. well after the pandemic.
