The Goulburn region has been touted as one of the best locations for future renewable energy projects, according to new research.

Data on energy efficiency nation-wide by Australia National University experts, has been collated into a heat map which identifies clean power hotspots.

The University’s Professor Andrew Blakers says Goulburn has the ingredients to contribute significantly to clean energy nationally.

The professor said “It’s important to understand all the solar farms,  all the wind farms and all the pump hydro will be in regional areas close to big cities like Sydney”.

“Goulburn ticks every box”.
