Licence lost for five years

A man has lost his drivers licence for five years after appearing in court, charged over a series of road offences in Canberra.

The 42 year old faced charges of aggravated reckless driving, speeding and two counts of driving while disqualified – as well as other offences involving theft and failing to answer his bail.

The A.C.T. Magistrates court was told police noticed the vehicle back in March but had to stop a pursuit.

However, he’d been identified and police detained him about a month later.

In court, questions about his mental health were raised.

The Judge decided to release him, pending strict conditions including a four year intensive corrections order and a five year licence disqualification.
