NCA Unveils Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Plans

The National Capital Authority is looking to upgrade the bridge and widen the shared paths – for the structure to cope with heavier vehicles and more traffic.

The authority is seeking community feedback prior to submitting the $137 million project plan to the Federal Parliament’s standing committee on public works.

The plan includes widening the two spans of the 310-metre bridge outwards and enhancing the pedestrian approaches.

The work is expected to begin next year and completed in 2025, contingent on the approval process.
