It’s largely based off the ACT Government’s now abandoned city to the lake idea from a decade ago, which would’ve seen a proposal to put Parkes Way underground offset by land sales to developers.

The plan is seen as a way for the local government to maximise federal investment, while also reviving it’s own city to the lake proposal.

The cost could be a sticking point, with Mr Pocock admitting not everything could be built now, but believes that a proposal needs to be put in place for the future.
