Water rates to go up

Water prices across the territory are expected to go up in the next five years.

The A.C.T.’s economic regulator has estimated – the average household that consumes 200 kilo-litres of water annually, will see a $50 interest

The Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission has released its draft proposal which will see a residential customer pay more than 12-hundred dollars (1227) next financial year for the combined water and sewerage service.

Non-residential customers will see their combined annual bills increase by $437 to $4917, depending on water consumption and the number flushable fixtures installed.

The draft report is open to public feedback until December
