School crossing safety concern

Share:

Parents have raised concerns about a pedestrian crossing at the entrance to the Brindabella Christian College car park in Lyneham.

It’s being claimed students’ lives are being put at risk because parents believe the crossing isn’t safe.

The problem appears to be the high volume of cars driving over the foot path as they come and go into the car park during school drop-off and pick-up times.

It’s a makeshift crossing, with cars stopped over the pathway and children being forced to dart between vehicles.

A petition’s now got 600 signatures calling on the A.C.T. Government to fix the problem after several reported near-misses.
